City Assembly of Kragujevac is representative organ, which performs the fundamental functions of local government, established by the constitution, the law and the statute.

The assembly is comprised of representatives, elected by the citizens in direct elections, by secret ballot and in accordance with the law and the statute.

The assembly is comprised of 87 representatives. A session of the city assembly shall be convened when needed, but at least once every three months.

The sessions of the city assembly are public.

The manner of preparation, conducting and work of a session of the city assembly, the exercise of the rights and obligations of representatives, election and work of the organs of the Assembly and other issues connected with the work of the assembly shall be regulated by its rules of order.
